Charlotte IMS Recap

An aerial view of our booth.
We finally had a chance to catch our collective breath after the whirl-wind weekend that was the Charlotte International Motorcycle Show. This was our first year with a display at the event and we learned a lot from the experience. We learned that two-three people can pull this off, having Ducati girls in your booth attracts a lot of attention and that 73 350 Bultaco's are way more interesting to most people than say, a 1962 Triton. To all those who came, thanks for stopping by and saying hello, to everyone who helped us, thanks for lending a hand and to those who didn't make it, we hope you come and see us at another event or at next year's IMS. Next stop Triumph Vintage Day at Ray Price.
In case you missed our booth, or stopped by and wondered what it was you were looking at, here's a complete list of the bikes we brought: L-R 1971 BSA A65, 1969 Triumph T120 Bonneville, 1973 Bultaco Pursang 350, 1967 Triton, 1962 Triton, 1959 Matchless G3, 1978 Triumph T140 Bonneville AHRMA Racer,  1974 Norton Commando.

Model, Mayra Tinajero, leaves Ducati and becomes the new Norton girl.

TUNC @ International Motorcycle Show: Charlotte, NC

February 22-24, 2013 Charlotte, NC
Please make plans to come visit us at Progressive's International Motorcycle Show at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, NC. The event kicks off on Friday, February 22 at 4:00pm and continues until Sunday February 24 at 5:00pm. We will have a booth packed with a ton of our favorite vintage motorcycles, racing memorabilia and information and swag from upcoming Ton Up NC events including the Meltdown, the Rochelle Reliability Run and the Bull City Rumble.

In addition to checking out Ton Up NC's display of pedigreed vintage road/dirt racing machines and a selection of our favorite vintage road bikes, plan on spending the entire weekend exploring isles and isles of motorcycle bliss including: The Moto GP Experience, celebrity appearances by some of your favorite riders, J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show, the XDL Street Jam stunt show/competition, Demo Rides, the Marketplace etc. etc. etc. too much to name here. Trust me, its at least two or three days worth of two-wheeled fun (for more show features click here). Bull City Rumble 10: 8/29-31/2014

August 29 to 31, 2014
The Bull City Rumble is a world-renowned vintage motorcycle and scooter rally hosted by Ton Up NC annually on Labor Day Weekend in Durham, NC. Thematically, the event has its roots in the traditional rivalry of Mods vs. Rockers, the sensationalized clash of two youth cultures- scooter riding mods and motorcycle riding rockers, in 1960’s England. The event has evolved from its humble beginnings in a parking lot in 2005 to a multi-venue, multi-day rally drawing thousands of enthusiasts from all over the world.
The hosts, Ton Up NC, are a small not for profit group of enthusiasts with a singular goal: to promote the riding, restoration and racing of vintage motorcycles. 2014 marks Ton Up NC’s 11th anniversary as an organization and marks the 10th edition of the Bull City Rumble. When not organizing events, the members of Ton Up NC compete nationally in vintage dirt and road motorcycle racing.
On Labor Day weekend, 2014 (Aug. 29-31), downtown Durham will again be filled with the sights and sounds of vintage scooters, motorcycles and enthusiasts from all four corners of the globe. The historic Lucky Strike Tobacco Warehouses in Durham’s Brightleaf District serves as the backdrop for the annual bike show on Saturday, August 31 where judges are not necessarily looking for the prettiest and cleanest machines but who are looking for well ridden bikes with personality and craftsmanship (with a $500 cash prize for Best in Show). Later, festivities move indoors to the Social for some of the finest burlesque dancers in the South, Rock and Roll music and refreshments.
Make plans to come join us for one of the best two-wheeled events in the South: The Bull City Rumble.
