The Action Is Go: Fu Manchu Live in Raleigh, NC 4.23.2013

Fu Manchu, a So-Cal stoner rock band with some NC roots, well sort of... The band's quintessential records: "In Search of..." and "The Action is Go" were both released on the Carrboro, NC's Mammoth Records in the late 90's and consequently they periodically played the local music hall, The Cat's Cradle on the regular. The band's brand of riff heavy Marshal driven rock blended some of the best parts of heavy punk rock with an FM radio classic rock vibe. The music had energy to spare and well, we used it to fuel many a backyard pool/bowl/half-pipe beer bash back in the day. When they announced that they would be touring playing my favorite record, "The Action Is Go" in its entirety, I prayed that they would return to the Ole North State for a repeat performance. Sometimes dreams do come true. On April 23, 2013 the band made a stop at the nearby King's Barcade in downtown Raleigh, NC and blew the roof off the place. Here's a couple of clips from the show... (thanks Marcus for the ticket).
